Dunn's Boat Service has been a fixture on Big Moose Lake since 1942. What started as small has grown into the Central Adirondacks' most trusted full-service marina maintaining the family values that built this business.
Our Story
Located at the west end of Big Moose Lake, our marina sits in one of the most beautiful and historically rich corners of the Adirondack Park. We provide boat rentals across 20 lakes, narrated lake tours, new boat sales, a fully stocked marine store, and every service your boat could need — all from one convenient location.
Our customers are the reason we've been here for over 80 years. Many of the families who visit us today are the children and grandchildren of customers who first came to Big Moose decades ago. That kind of trust isn't built overnight, and it's something we never take for granted.
The Lake
Big Moose Lake has a character all its own. Surrounded by forests and mountains, the lake offers sparkling waters, peaceful coves, and a rich history that dates back to the earliest days of the Adirondack Park. It was once home to the first railroad through the park and the setting that inspired Theodore Dreiser's classic novel and the movie “A Place In The Sun.” A century later, the lake remains a place where people come to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy the outdoors.
